Saga Dawa Festival celebration 2021 When the star of Saga appears in the sky in the fourth month of Tibetan Calendar, Tibetan Buddhists start to celebrate the most auspicious and significant time of a year: Saga Dawa Festival (Dawa means month) which runs from May 12th until June 10th 2021. Tibetans consider the Saga Dawa festival to be one of the most auspicious religious practice in their life. This month-long festival honors our perfect and most supreme teacher, Buddha ...Sakyamuni whose birth, enlightenment, and paranirvana all took place in the same month and reaches its peak on April 15th in the lunar calendar. This is a list of special days during the month of Saga Dawa (Festival of Vaishakha):7th - The Birth; 8th - The Renunciation; 15th - Entering the Womb, Awakening, Defeating the Armies of Mara, Paranirvana. Saga Dawa is known as the month of merits, it is also called bumgyur dawa, which means merits multiplied by a hundred thousand times. Tibetan Buddhists worldwide make extra efforts in practicing Dharma, generosity, compassion, and all good deeds in order to accumulate greater virtuous merits and purify our negative karmas. The 15th day of this lunar month, the full moon day, is called Saga Dawa Düchen (Düchen means great occasion). In 2020, Saga Dawa Düchen falls on Friday, June 5th. This day is the single most important holy day of the year for Tibetan Buddhists. Lopon Pelbar lead an Auspicious Puja and Buddha Sakyamuni Sadhana to honor and celebrate the start of Saga Dawa on May 12th. And on the sacred Day of 15th of Fourth Month( May 26th, 2021), Lopon Pelbar will hold a Lama Norbu Gyatso Tsok to commemorate this important and auspicious time. Welcome to join us!

W For Losar (12. February) and 500 anniversary of the parinirvana of Pema Lingpa (14. February), H.H.Kyabje Gangteng Tulku Rinpoche advised us to do Bum tsog of Amitayus Buddha Amitayus or Buddha of Limitless Life is associated with long life (brings back life force) and good health. Accumulation of 100,000 feast offerings - Tsog bum.... This is one of the best means to prolong the life of Guru, clear away obstacles, and fulfill samaya bonds between Guru and students. Tsok is a profound Vajrayana practice of offering that swiftly gathers the accumulations of merit and wisdom and simultaneously purifies obscurations. Bum means that the offering will accumulate 100,000 times. e will do 3 sessions (the schedule is below in the Paris time zone). February 14th, 2021 ( January 3rd on Lunar calendar) is Pema Lingpa’s 500th Parinirvana Day. There is a Tsok at Buddha Shrine Hall at Gangteng Buddhist College to honor and commemorate this very special day!

For the Losar (Lunar New Year Day) on February 12th, Lopon Pelbar held an auspicious Puja of cleansing and blessing with incense and lamp offerings and a Namtose ( Lord of Wealth) practice to wish all a prosperous new year!

Lopon Pelbar conducted a very special lunar Rat Year End program, Ritual of Reversing/Exterminating Negative and Evil Forces through Heart Sutra (Shernying Dudok) on February 7th,2021.

Our residence Lama, Lopon Pelbar, is going to conduct a Lama Norbu Gyatso Tsok today to commemorate Longchenpa’s Parinirvara Day. Longchen Rabjampa, commonly abbreviated to Longchenpa (13081364), known of as the "all-knowing", was perhaps the most famous of the realized scholars in the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. Along with Sakya Pandita and Je Tsongkhapa, he is commonly recognized as one of the three main manifestations of Manjushri. ... His monumental work of Tibetan literature is the Seven Treasuries,while his more than 250 treatises encapsulate the core of the previous 600 years of monastic Nyingma doctrine and Buddhist thought in Tibet. Longchenpa was a critical link in the exoteric and esoteric transmission of the Dzogchen teachings. He was abbot of Samye, one of Tibet's most important monasteries and the first Buddhist monastery established in the Himalaya, but spent most of his life travelling or in retreat.
