Here it is again... "Win something Wednesday". Well, not really... this is the first time we've done this (on wednesday). So here you go... In the Yellow Wood Films movie "The Vessel", one of the characters has the same last name as a famous character in a book. Which character is it and from what book? Hint: Kafka is the author. First correct answer will win one of our super awesome coffee mugs. http://yellowwoodfilms.com/Yellow_Wood_Films_L.L/Store.html

Yellow Wood Films would like to once again thank everyone who attended our reading of "Blood Current" last night. We had excellent actors who brought the pages to life, amazing attendees, and caterers. Everyone gave us some great feedback. We are looking forward to getting this thing rolling this summer. Please keep checking in for updates.

We realize it's not throw back Thursday, but we thought we would throw back this old news interview of our world premiere of "Iron Ridge" with our producer Rory Schulte. We had a great turn out that night and even Brutus the Bear showed up. We want to thank the 1000 plus people who showed up that night to support us. In fact, if you can show us a ticket stub from that night... We will send out a special gift just for you.

There is absolutely more than one way to prepare for a table read...

Happy New Year everyone! YWF is looking for available actors to join us on the 25th of this month for our table read of the feature film "Blood Current". You must be in Los Angeles and available this date. We are currently looking for the following characters: Neil: (30's) is a down on his luck real-estate broker. He is an everyman kinda guy that doesn't stand out in a crowd. In fact, he is a self-induced hypochondriac that isn't enjoying himself at all on the rafting trip th...at his wife planned for him in the middle of nowhere. The stress of life, his failing marriage, and the obnoxious couple that has tagged along isn't helping his mood either. Neil must try and muster the strength to be the man he isn't when his party has a run in with a dangerous psychopath. Dean: (30's) is an off duty police officer. He is loud and someone who’s the life of the party. Dean is self-absorbed and loves his job, even when he's off duty. His favorite thing is pushing other peoples buttons and has no remorse in the fact that he’s having an affair with Neil’s wife. Lange: (60) is a local Sheriff new on the job. Lange is still learning about the sleepy town, it’s people and the mountainous terrain. He is experienced and not much gets past him. His interest is suddenly sparked when our rafters don’t show up on their scheduled time and location. Lange digs a little deeper and is shocked to learn the history of the area and its stacks of missing person reports. Scotty (50) is a local raft shop owner. Scotty is a little backwoods and rough around the edges. Living by himself in the backcountry has made him somewhat of a introvert. Knowing that he is the last stop for many out-of-towners, he cashes in on their lack of planning. There is something amiss and off putting with Scotty and it doesn’t go unnoticed by our group. Shelly: (30’s) is a local state park rep. She is in control of the river and the individuals that come to vacation there. Her concern quickly rises when another group of river travelers fail to make their last checkpoint. Narrator: obviously, this is just like it sounds Someone to read scene direction and action lines. It is preferable that this person has experience. Interested parties should send an email and headshot to: [email protected] Please put the character name in the subject line.

Forget "Throw Back Thursday"... How about LWSCT "Let's Win Something Cool Thursday"? The first person to answer this question correctly will win a free Yellow Wood Films crew T-shirt. In the movie "Iron Ridge" the opening sequence contains a "Bridge", that bridge was also in another movie separating the US/Canadian boarder. That movie starred Kevin Costner and was also filmed in Montana. What movie was it?

If you could play the lead character in any movie, what type of character would it be? Would you be a badass like John McClane in "Die Hard", A quirky Max Fischer from "Rushmore", How about a determined female character like Karen Blixen in "Out of Africa", a lethal seductress like Catherine in "Basic Instinct",or our personal favorite - Sully in "Nobody's Fool"?

The first person to answer this question correctly will win a free copy of "The Vessel" DVD. There is something hidden in the Yellow Wood Films logo that most people never notice. What is it? Of course, those that have produced or starred in Yellow Wood Films pictures already know this. So please don't answer.
