At #YBCA we're proud to support public investment in art and culture to help artists get back to work. Datebook SF shows how artists from The San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Company, Dance Brigade's Dance Mission, and Carnaval San Francisco as part of Mayor London Breed 's #SFCreativeCorps are using their craft to share vital public health messages that are needed now more than ever. https://bit.ly/3qqTvI5

YBCA's marquee needs YOU! What urgent message do you want to share with the world on the cusp of the 2020 election? We want to elevate the creative and activist voices in our community. We want to know what is inspiring you, provoking you, and keeping you up at night. And we want the world to know. Submit your message for consideration today: https://bit.ly/31pfJiP... Winning messages will appear on our marquee facing the corner of 3rd Street and Mission Street outside our downtown campus, as well as on social media. The #YBCAmarquee was created in 2017 as a living installation by Cuban artist and activist #TaniaBruguera.

If you missed the Bayview Live 2020 musical experience you can watch it here https://youtu.be/hqa-sZxUOUo?t=1754 Stay tuned for highlights from the evening where murals came to life along the Bayview’s Egbert Avenue to honor the neighborhood’s heroe...s. We extend our gratitude to our collaborators: YBCA artists-in-residence SF Urban Film Fest (SFUFF), and Bayview-based partners Imprint.City and Young Community Developers, Inc., and Crux, an XR movement founded by and centering Black technologists for uplifting the community in a time when connection is so vital for us to thrive.

We are reimagining how we can safely bring our community together in person once again. We worked with the #YerbaBuenaGardens to curate colorful social distancing artwork by local artists to welcome the public to safely connect with one another in the center of our city. Infinite Center, infinite sun by multidisciplinary artist, educator, and former YBCA Fellow Tosha Stimage is the first in a series of artwork for the public to enjoy. We invite you to enjoy all 21 versions of these social distancing-inspired 12-foot explosions of color. Be within them, or view them as a source of inspiration. #socialdistancing #ybca #sanfrancisco Photos: Tommy Lau.
