Celebrating our successful 2019 Spring Showcase!

Dear students and alumni of YaoYong Dance, 2019 will mark the 20th Anniversary of YaoYong Dance. To celebrate this special milestone, the school is preparing a series of events to be rolled out in the coming year. Besides a gala event commemorating Mr. Yao’s original works, a special book about the history and growth of YaoYong Dance is in the works. And you are cordially invited to participate by sharing your learning experience at YaoYong Dance how dancing has impacted yo...ur life, funny moments during the class, and your understanding of Chinese dance and culture through learning, etc. Here are some guidelines for entry. 1. The authors must be currently registered students or alumni of YaoYong Dance 2. Written content should be kept within 1000 words, in Chinese or English 3. Last day for submitting your entry is December 1, 2018 4. Please respond by February 28, 2018 if you wish to participate. Email your response to [email protected] with the email header YYD Book. Further notification and guidelines will be communicated to participants after the response deadline. Thank you for in advance for your support; we look forward to hearing back from you. 39 50020"" Artistic director Yao Yong's "Song Of the Nomads" from his larger work, "Prairie," was selected for the 39th Annual San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival. Representing 20 countries and areas, 500 dancers from around the world came... to the War Memorial Opera House to showcase their talents. Out of all the performances, Yao Yong's piece was the only Chinese folk dance. With their beautiful blue dresses and charming moves, the dancers wowed the audience and left a profound impression, ending their performance to generous rounds of applause. Having made its mark, YaoYong Dance looks forward to more success in years to come. Here's to seeing them shine again at next year's San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival!
