For her exceptional contributions to the Santa Fe High community, senior Isabella Padilla was recognized by the Whittier Union Board of Trustees with an Award of Merit during a virtual board meeting on Oct. 13! Padilla, an academic and athletic standout at Santa Fe, maintains a 4.30 GPA, having completed 32 semesters of AP and Honors classes, providing leadership and character as a member of the Santa Fe soccer and track teams! 2020 Report to the Community: Whittier Union will place Measure AA, a $183.5 million facilities bond, on the Nov. 3, 2020 ballot to address necessary repairs and renovations, improve school safety and technology, and upgrade career education and science/computer classrooms across District facilities. Twelve Whittier Union parents celebrated their graduation from the District’s Road to Success Parent Mentor Program on Oct. 14! The Parent Mentor Program, also called El Programa de Padres Promotores del Camino al Éxito Univeritario, trains parent volunteers to support their children as they pursue their education. The program is committed to closing the gap for students in the English learner program, supporting Spanish-speaking parents and creating a support system to navigate the challenges of distance learning!
