I am appalled by the scenes of violence in our nation’s capital. This is an affront to democracy. Across America, cities have been shaken by this attack on our Constitution, but our city remains strong and we will remain a unified community.

I want to recognize all residents of Stockton who are doing everything they can to stay safe and stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We are all sacrificing and facing unexpected challenges, but we need to remain strong. Stockton is a resilient community and we will rebound. Now that the results from the March election are officially certified, I would like to thank the voters of District 2 for re-electing me. I am humbled to have earned your support, and I look forward t...o representing you and our neighborhoods for four more years! To my family, volunteers, donors, and those who endorsed my candidacy; your support means more than I could express. You made this victory possible. I commend my opponent, Fernando Duarte, for running a fair campaign. It is not easy to run for office, and he gave 100 percent. I was impressed by his effort, and I know he will continue to advocate for District 2. Our city was already struggling with a number of issues before this current crisis: homelessness, violence, substance abuse, under-employment. We will continue to focus on these important matters in addition to the financial and health effects of COVID-19. I believe Stockton has a bright future. Let’s continue to stand strong and create a community that lifts everyone higher. Dan Wright

As a lifelong educator, I've learned to appreciate the value of a parent's perspective. That is why I am supporting Sandra Chan in her campaign for a position on the Lincoln Unified School District Board of Trustees. Sandra has been an educational leader since her children enrolled in Lincoln Unified schools. She understands the needs of the diverse population that Stockton schools serve and she has prepared herself for this role with her leadership as a Stockton Children's Museum board member, a school site council member, and a PTSA officer. Today, please vote for Sandra Chan for Lincoln Unified School Board, Area 4.

A YES vote on Measure X will ensure the county can effectively regulate Cannabis businesses, provide for public health, and expand proven programs for our children. This one is a no-brainer.

Stockton Unified School District has an election tomorrow for its Board of Trustees. I won't be endorsing in all districts, but please consider voting for Lange Luntao in Area 4 and VALENTINO Silva in Area 3. Former Board President Luntao has demonstrated through his strong, student-centered leadership that he deserves another four years. Valentino Silva has a strong history, even at his relatively young age, of political action and leadership. Help move SUSD progressively forward and Valentino Silva for SUSD Board tomorrow, November 3rd!

There’s only one race for Stockton City Council on this November’s ballot, and that is the campaign for District 6, which covers most of south Stockton, including all of Weston Ranch. The incumbent, Jesus Andrade, is retiring and I wish him all the best in his future endeavors. So who is best to replace him? Planning Commissioner Kimberly Warmsley is the best choice. An experienced community leader who understands municipal policy and how local government functions, Kimberl...y will undoubtedly bring her vast knowledge and experience to the council. She has been instrumental in improving Weston Ranch by bringing in new retail and housing. Endorsed by numerous area leaders, civic organizations, first responders, and more, Kimberly Warmsley will hit the ground running on day one. If you’re a voter in District 6, please vote for Kimberly Warmsley. Thank you.

Assemblymember Susan Eggman’s decision to leave the State Assembly to run for State Senate means that for the first time in years Stockton voters will be choosing a new state legislator. Who this person is matters because the State Assembly is where many important policy decisions are made that affect the daily lives of Stocktonians. I have researched the backgrounds of both candidates seeking this post and my choice is County Supervisor Kathy Miller. Miller, my predecessor... as District 2 Councilmember, understands local issues through her work on various agencies, boards, commissions, and legislative bodies. Her experience in both the public and private sector are exactly what we need after being so well-served by Susan Eggman. Incidentally, Assemblymember Eggman has also endorsed Kathy Miller to replace her. The possibility of Susan Eggman in the California Senate and Kathy Miller in the Assembly means our city will have a powerful duo advocating for all of Stockton. We are fortunate to have these candidates. Please join me in sending Kathy Miller to Sacramento!

Service over self. No one exemplifies that’s better than Stockton’s Susan Talamantes Eggman. For the past 8 years Susan has done an excellent job of representing our city in the state Assembly. This year she is running for the California Senate and I encourage you to join me in voting for her. She has clearly earned our community’s support. ... In Sacramento, Assemblymember Talamantes Eggman has led our fight against the proposed Twin Tunnels scheme, worked for better employee protections, led the fight for the creation of a CSU campus in Stockton, and always worked for a budget that prioritized people over corporations. Susan is always accessible to her constituents. She frequently works across the aisle and gets things done in ways few legislators do. Susan Tallamantes Eggman for California Senate!
