Happy Halloween!! In addition to Halloween, October 31st also marks the end of Filipino/a/x American History Month (FAHM). In celebration of this month, our Thespian Troupe was invited to perform a staged reading of an excerpt from Welga by Conrad Panganiban. Welga is a contemporary play that weaves in the history of Filipino American labor organizers in California. The troupe was invited to film the reading as part of a FAHM event for the Filipino American Educators of Cali...fornia Association. The staged reading features some of the original Wolfpack Performing Arts cast, new members, and is directed by alumni student Mariel Mastrili. The video also features a dance performance from the original Wolfpack Performing Arts cast of Welga who performed last November. Are you in Marching Band?! Should you be?! If so then you know that next week we have Band Camp ONLINE!!! From Monday-Thursday via zoom!! Times vary each day, but camp will start at 9:00am end by Noon. The goal to having some type of camp is to continue working on becoming skilled performers and musicians. Marching Band is an activity that provides a community for members in grades 9-12 where students can support one another through music and performance. It also is a great place to meet new people and where students can seek help from peers when it comes to school (navigating COHS, classes, & activities). VOLUNTEERS NEEDED We recognize that we are in the middle of a pandemic, so it may be more difficult to get volunteers this year; however, if you are 18 years of age or older, we are in need of your help. We are taking extra safety precautions to guard the health of all workers including but not limited to: mandatory face masks, maintaining 6' of distance, and hand sanitizer. The annual fireworks fundraiser raises thousands of dollars for our programs each year, and we don't ...want to miss out on this opportunity.
