Today is the dayour chance to make our voices heard up and down the ballot. 100 years ago, suffragists fought to secure women the vote, and 55 years ago civil rights revolutionaries fought to protect that right for our siblings in the black community. Honor the sacrifices our predecessors made by using that right today. Post a selfie of you with your I Voted sticker below, and we’ll celebrate your participation in the politics of our country! If you’re voting in person, r...emember to bring snacks, a book, phone chargers (or a friend) as lines across Sacramento polling places are long. You are entitled to vote so long as you were in line before the polling place closed, so they can’t turn you away if you are already in line. If you aren’t registered to vote, you can still request a provisional ballot and register at your polling place. You can drop your vote-by-mail ballots off in designated bins at polling places. If you are intimidated at the polls or are denied any rights you are entitled to, or you witness voter intimidation, you can reach the Secretary of States voting hotline at 800-345-VOTE or the California Democratic Party’s voter protection hotline at 877-321-VOTE Stay safe, today can be very stressful and painful for the people in our community, so hold each other close (metaphorically), and be kind to one another and yourselves.
