Commandant's 245th Marine Corps Birthday Message

Wine Country Marines 15.12.2020

Great casting opportunity for any veteran that would like to try their hand at acting. This was sent to me for assistance by the casting director just a few mo...ments ago. We are casting a paid docu-style project for a Financial Tax company in the SF area and we'd like to share this with you and your network. Seeking Veterans & Active Military all genders, ages 18-99+ within 2 hours of the SF area It's a positive project and will pay well $1500 for those chosen. We are casting VERY quickly yet there are no in person auditions for this one - a quick self tape and a zoom interview.

URGENT CALL FOR HELP - VET IN CRISIS... US Marine Corps Veteran with Traumatic Brain Injury is missing and at risk. On Tuesday, August 11, 2020, a missing person report was prepared for a 56-year-old male, Abraham Siliezar with the San Francisco Police Department.... Siliezar's sister last spoke with the veteran on August 9, 2020, who stated he was feeling unwell. An ambulance was called to his residence, where he refused medical attention. He has not been heard from since. He is considered "at-risk" due to numerous medical issues and his inability to care for himself. He could be on the streets, or in any hospital or social program as a John Doe. If you see Mr. Siliezar, please call your local police department and be prepared to provide dispatchers with Siliezar’s current location and description. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call the SFPD 24-Hour Tip Line at 1-415-575-4444 or Text a Tip to TIP411 and begin the text message with SFPD. Please forward to every VA in the Bay Area, every homeless shelter, every VSO, etc. You may remain anonymous when reporting if you like.

CALL FOR HELP! URGENT! We have an active duty law enforcement officer, that is a husband, father of 3 (teen boy, teen girl, pre-teen girl) that has been evacuated due to the fires, and there is a very high probability that his home is gone. He also has 2 dogs. He was staying in a hotel, but now he’s currently camping in the outdoors until he can find housing or return to a hotel, but must leave his family while he reports to his very essential job responsibilities. Secu...re housing is crucial to their health and safety. We are looking for a place for him to rent. 3 bedrooms would be ideal. This is a great family that can really use our help right now. If you have a property or know of one, please post it here on this thread, or email me at [email protected] and I will get him the info, along with your contact details. Thank You! James

A LEGACY OF SERVICE! Ronald Reagan said Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that... problem. And neither does this family. Master Gunnery Sgt. Tory Hunck and his wife Master Sgt. Vilmary Hunck pin second lieutenant bars on the collar of their daughter, Ashley Hunck, one of the newest Marine Lieutenants in the Marine Corps. She commissioned on July 10 at Camp Pendleton, Ca. 2nd Lt. Hunck is continuing her families legacy of service as US Marines. Her father is the 1st Marine Division Communications Chief and her mother is the Communications Security Manager for the 3rd Marine Air Wing. Congratulations 2nd Lt. Hunck! Congratulations MGySgt and MSgt Hunck on raising an outstanding young woman.

This photo is of my friend Steve. Here he is saying goodbye to his family, as he does every day, maybe for the last time so that he can put his life on the lin...e for your kids and your family. Steve looks sharp in his uniform, but for him, it's heavy. Heavy with the responsibility that comes with it. He's knows the risks to him and his family, but he puts it on willingly and goes out every day not knowing what lies ahead. When he gets a call, he responds. He doesn't ask what your race, gender or sexuality is first. He doesn't ask what's your nationality. He just asks - how can I be of service. Steve is a member of the San Jose Police Department. He has worked patrol, SWAT (MERGE), Crisis Intervention, Community Service, Gang Unit Supervisor and Gang Detective, was also attached to an FBI Task Force - you name it. He doesn't say "this isn't my job". He only asks how can he serve the community, and he does it. Steve is a decorated Army Veteran having served with the 82nd Airborne. His wife is a decorated Marine Veteran. They have spent their entire adult lives in the service of their community. Steve was in high demand, and could have worked at any agency. But, he wanted to serve the community that he grew up in. Steve and his family are colorful, and colorblind. His wife is mixed race, his father is hispanic and his step mother is black. Both of his parents served an entire career as San Jose Police Officers. Steve and his family continue to serve in their time away from the job. Both are involved and support a number of nonprofits that provide much needed resources and support to the community. Some cops might just punch the clock and meet minimum expectations - but not Steve. When you say "Blue Lives Murder", Steve is one of the many thousands that you've stereotyped with a lie. Some people murder, sure, and that's why you have the Steve's of the world standing the line, to protect us all. If equality is the goal, and ending stereotype casting, then we have to stop saying black people are criminals, because while some are, the majority are not. If equality is the goal, and ending stereotype casting, then we have to stop saying blue lives murder, because while a couple have, the majority have not. #thinblueline #bluelivesmatter #82nd #army #beallyoucanbe #semperfi #usmc #usmclife #protectandserve #sjpd #sanjosepolice

This photo is of my friend Matt. He's the one in the bomb suit. You know, the suit that he puts on when he walks up to IED's and other dangerous devices that... someone evil put in place so they could kill you, your kids and your family. Matt puts it on willingly, and walks up to and disarms it so that you can all live. He doesn't ask what your race, gender or sexuality is first. He doesn't ask what's your nationality. He only asks that should he give his life to save yours, that his family and his community be taken care of. Matt is a member of the San Jose Police Department. He has worked patrol, SWAT (MERGE), Crisis Intervention, Bomb Squad, Community Service, you name it. He doesn't say "this isn't my job". He only asks how can he help, then he does it. Matt is a decorated Marine Veteran. And more than once, Matt has called me in the middle of the night because he's got a veteran in crisis. Someone frightened, with their PTSD triggered, and someone in danger of hurting themselves or others. I don't ask, and Matt doesn't offer what their race is. Because it doesn't matter. He'll tell me their branch of service, their MOS, what's happening. And I'll give Matt whatever support that I can to get the situation diffused so all can go home. Some cops might take the easy route, and be cowboying it with guns blazing. But not many, and certainly not Matt. When you say "Blue Lives Murder", Matt is one of the many thousands that you've stereotyped with a lie. Some people murder, sure, and that's why you have the Matt's of the world standing the line, to protect us all. If equality is the goal, and ending stereotype casting, then we have to stop saying black people are criminals, because while some are, the majority are not. If equality is the goal, and ending stereotype casting, then we have to stop saying blue lives murder, because while a couple have, the majority have not. #thinblueline #bluelivesmatter #semperfi #usmc #usmclife #protectandserve #sjpd #sanjosepolice

Wine Country Marines - Memorial Day 2020 Message

Wine Country Marines 12.07.2020

In honor of Memorial Day, several of our board members participated in the creation of this virtual Memorial Day tribute. We are so appreciative of the families that shared their stories and memories with us and allowed us to honor their loved ones in this way. This is one of the many projects our Wine Country Marines board members have been involved in for Memorial Day, and we'll be sharing others soon. Thank you for watching. We will never forget. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyq46NuVmYk

Lest we forget. A Memorial Day tribute to the memory of a friend, hero, Marine, and true gentlemen. A few months ago, on January 15th, 2020, a humble, dignified, and remarkable 90-year old man quietly passed away in total obscurity with zero fanfare within a small nursing home tucked away on a back street in the small, quaint town of Kenwood, California. Because his obituary never appeared anywhere within the press, this frail but proud veteran of the Korean War may have ap...Continue reading
