Doesn't Malbec just make you salivate? Juicy and rich with the essence of the Andes, the wines call out for beef! I just had a virtual tasting with Bodegas CARO of three different incarnations of Malbec. The first, Aruma, 100% Malbec with no oak treatment, I don't think I've ever tasted the pure fruit without oak essence. The second, Amancaya, an elegant blend of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, and the finale, CARO, a selective blend of the best of the best, also a blend, but meant to age. This collaboration between France's Lafite Rothschild and Argentina's Bodegas Catena is a perfect pairing, the full review to come.
