Hello Ram Families, We are sending out the Ramstarter campaign that benefits eight school groups that are supporting our students and teachers in a virtual learning environment. Purchase a package that we’ll split up for you, mix and match or à la carte giving choices. But this opportunity only lasts through the end of 2020. Visit RamStarter.org to learn more and make a donation before December 31.

WG Cross Country Reunion, Part 2: After that first year in 2003, when many alumni showed up with their game face (race face?) on, trying to beat their old team...mates from 20+ years before, the reunion in 2004 was a bit less competitive. I don't have any photo of the race as I was running it. If you recognize anyone, please add his/her name in the comment section of that photo. See more

Latest NCAA recruiting updates across Division levels The NCAA has recently issued updated recruiting rules for the D1 and D2 levels. NCAA Division 1: Suspension of in-person recruiting has been extended until September 30.... NCAA Division 2: A quiet period is extended through August 31, where in-person recruiting is allowed on campus. However, unlike Division 1, normal recruiting calendars will resume on September 1. NCAA Division 3: No major announcements have been made, so we recommend reaching out directly to any programs you have been in contact with to ask about their recruiting plans. What recruits need to know about the new NCAA rules? All D1 in-person recruiting is suspended through September 30. Beginning June 1, D1 coaches can virtually observe voluntary workouts if requested by the recruit. D2 coaches will follow a quiet period through August 31, in which in-person recruiting on campus is permitted, subject to local public health guidelines. As of September 1, Division 2’s quiet period will be over, and D2 coaches may resume their normal recruiting calendars and activity. Colleges are advised to suspend official visits and unofficial visits to campus. All recruits should check with any coaches they have scheduled visits with. Coaches and recruits can still communicate via phone and written correspondence (email, text and social media DMs). The NCAA will continue to consult experts to determine whether the date needs to be extended. What this means for recruits? Impact on on-campus contact: If you have arranged to meet with a college coach on- or off-campus, contact them directly to reschedule or double check the status of your visit. Impact on off-campus contact: While all off-campus recruiting has been suspended, coaches and recruits can still communicate via email, phone, and private messages like DMs as long as they follow NCAA recruiting rules. Since college coaches will be relying on digital communication now more than ever, it’s important to build a recruiting profile and continue to manage your recruiting process. Though these decisions currently apply only to the NCAA D1 and D2 levels, NCAA D3, NAIA and NJCAA level coaches are following suit with their own updates. If you are in contact with coaches at these programs, we recommend checking directly with them to ensure face-to-face meetings or in-person scouting are not canceled or postponed. Hello Ram Family, I hope everyone has had a smooth, or at least as smooth as possible, transition into the start of the 2020-21 school year. I know everyone is working hard to provide the best learning opportunities as we begin the year. Please let me know if you have any questions that pertain to academics and athletics as we move through the year. All prospective student-athletes should be registering on RegisterMyAthlete.com. Returning students who already have an ...account will need to verify their information and indicate which sport(s) they are interested in playing this year. Sophomores through Seniors who are looking at wanting to extend their athletic careers at either the Division 1 or Division 2 level should be completing their NCAA Clearinghouse information. Visit the NCAA Eligibility Center at https://web3.ncaa.org/ecwr3/ to create your profile. Also on this website is critical information surrounding eligibility standards to play at either the Division 1 or Division 2 level, what constitutes as a "Core" class, and other guidance for college bound student-athletes. Our League Athletic Director meeting will be held on September 3rd to discuss the upcoming seasons, best practices, any new protocols surrounding safe return to sport, and sharing ideas to get back to action. In the meantime, continue working hard in the classroom. We will work equally as hard making sure we fight for your opportunities to compete this year. Continue working on your social media in a professional manner to help promote yourself to prospective programs. If you have target schools, start following them on Social Media and begin engaging in communication. With current restrictions on recruitment and travel for college coaches, the time has never been more important than now to promote yourself and use tools to make connections. You can follow Willow Glen Athletics on Twitter: @wg_athletics. We will follow you back and help share your accomplishments and growth. Email [email protected] if you have any questions at all or just want to say hello!! Go Rams!!!

Willow Glen Families, Welcome back to the 2020-21 school year. I am your Athletic Director, Eric Ostrowski. We are looking forward to providing opportunities for our students to compete in interscholastic competition this year. Unlike in the past, our seasons of sport look a little different this year. Our Athletic Programs will be divided into 2 seasons of sport this year, with Season 1 having a projected start date of December 14th. All athletic related in-person... activities will be suspended during the full distance learning time frame. Once on-site, in-person instruction begins, we will then look into transitioning into a safe return to sport and begin acclimating our student-athletes for their sport seasons. In the meantime, please be aware that all student-athletes must complete an online registration process and submit an annual physical that clears them for all physical activity. Our online platform for registering for all Athletic Programs is at: RegisterMyAthlete.com At this site, parents create an account and register their son/daughter for a sport(s) of their choice. They will also e-sign all of their paperwork and upload their physical forms. If you are unable to upload the physical forms, those forms may be turned in to Main Office or W201 so they can be uploaded for your student. All students must be completely registered and have a current physical turned in or uploaded BEFORE they may participate with any sport’s teams. For returning families you will log in to your account. The first step is to verify your information and make sure to note any changes in contact, address, medical info, etc. You will then go ahead and select each sport of interest and then electronically indicate that you have read all the appropriate documentation. Families new to Willow Glen High School will first need to create a new account and designate Willow Glen High School as your home school. Once your initial account set up is complete, you may add your student and then indicate the sport(s) they are interested in participating in. Unfortunately the registration platform does not let you carry over your account from one school to another at this time. Please let me know if you have any questions at all about the upcoming seasons and/or registration. Look forward to seeing our Rams back in action! Sincerely, Eric Ostrowski, CAA Athletic Director Willow Glen High School
