Jessup in the Going to college was more than moving out of my parent’s house and away from my community, it was my first time facing the normal things of society. Lizzy Whitling,‘16 chose Jessup because she knew a Christ-centered education would not only prepare her for her future career but would be one of the most valuable things she could do with her college years. I also chose Jessup because of the generosity of the institution and donors. I received multiple scho...larships, lifting the financial burden of attending college from me and my family. Lizzy completed her degree in December 2016, receiving both the Psychology department scholarship and the outstanding graduate award. She is now a licensed Occupational Therapist serving families in the Fresno area!

Happy #WarriorWednesday! About 2 weeks ago, Jessup Music put on their first socially distanced concert ever for students, staff, and faculty. "This concert was a wonderful opportunity for our students to engage the Jessup community with a worship experience during such a turbulent time!," says Tom Ruscica, chair of the Music Department. Congrats Jessup Music for putting on a wonderful performance :)

Q of the week: How do you make the most of being a commuter student? I make the most of being a commuter student by being intentional about my time on campus. When I’m on campus, I try to study with friends, I attend as many events as I can, and I go out of my way to be in public places on campus when I am there so that I can interact with as many people as I can while I’m there. When I first decided to be a commuter, I was worried that I would feel like I was missing out on... things that happen on campus. Unfortunately, COVID has really changed what it looks like to be a commuter, and I definitely have to try harder to stay involved, but I recommend finding a solid group of friends who will be just as intentional with you as you are with them! -Emily Millard, Senior, Christian Leadership w/ a concentration in Youth Ministry Hey commuters, answer this Q down below

Why God? Some of us go through our day questioning God’s plans for us, here's some truth from freshman, Ashley Umbenhaur! "Recently I have been tugging on my heart more than I normally do. I was digging into God's... word a few days ago, when I came across the verse Jeremiah 29:11. It says, For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. I have been talking with God and been questioning Him why he decided to move me from my hometown to California to study education. Why did he decide to move away from the support team that supported me? With being out of state, I have had a hard time with finding the balance between family back at home and college. Recently I have been able to see a glimpse of my future unpack while I have been here at Jessup. God has set out an amazing plan for me, but at the same time this plan that God has made for me has given me some curveballs and been a roller coaster. New friendships are being made and some friendships are closing doors and moving on. While I experience what a lot of freshmen go through, I have been able to surround myself with people who love and walk through life with me. In this verse it talks about how God gives us hope. Hope that we know we can trust in Him and know that He has our future in the palm of His hands. This year has been filled with tons of curveballs for everyone. You may wonder why you are here, but the verse says that God doesn’t want to harm you. But through this time of uncertainty, we can find that there is hope and a future through Him. Our curveballs can be released because God has a hope and future for us. He promises to prosper us and not harm us through the unknown." See more

We love to serve! A co-curricular requirement for our Traditional Undergraduate students called ‘Spiritual Life Credits’ puts outreach and volunteering into practice, teaching students about spiritual growth through active participation in service and discipleship. Although local outreach has looked different this semester, we are still serving our community in creative ways :) To read more about our social + community impact, head to the link in our bio for the full : @jessuplife

We are excited to announce that the School of Education will begin offering a leadership option to the community After two years of dreaming and preparing, students now have the option to receive a Preliminary Administrative Services Credential (PASC) through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. This credential, coupled with the MAEd, equips graduates to become administrators in schools and districts and to work in public and private educational organizations! 16 years ago today we opened our Rocklin campus! "After a full year of renovations and construction to the Herman Miller Furniture factory buildings, William Jessup University opened its doors with over 400 students in the Fall of 2004 with lots of fanfare and great community support. Tiffin Residence Hall was still getting its flooring as students were moving in. There was no gym and the cafe was a small room with a portable kitchen, but the excitement and energy on campus ...were high! We had a ribbon-cutting at our Grand Opening with hundreds in attendance. We gave away free t-shirts to all who came to celebrate, and we heard from my father, President Bryce Jessup about his hopes and dreams for William Jessup University. Hopes and dreams for Christian Higher Education have been coming true every year since 1939 when my grandfather William Jessup started with 14 students at San Jose Bible College. By God's grace and provision, even bigger dreams will be coming true in the years ahead as we step into the future to become all God wants for His University."-Jim Jessup See more
