18 days until the tax filing deadline. Have you completed your returns?

While doing your spring cleaning keep the following in mind for your old tax files: IRS Statute of Limitations for most tax returns is 3 years from the date the return was filed. If your income was misstated by more than 25% the statute of limitations increases to 7 years from the date the return was filed.... If you have not filed the return or you committed tax fraud on the return there is no statute of limitations. You should keep your tax returns and supporting documents sufficient to cover the statute of limitations.
