This clearly is NOT a stalking this is a Mother protecting her young. If you head out into the wilderness be prepared to deal with the locals this mother mountain lion was protecting a couple of her cubs but this guy handled himself amazing! Never turn your back on a wild cat. Both Mountain lion and human did exactly as they should when confronting one another in the mountain lions home territory.

It takes a village of caring...Tomorrow these 2 beauties are on their way to their forever home at the Wildcat Sanctuary in Minnesota. Captive Bred and raised by the general public and then released when they became too much of a "Wild" animal. Huge Thank you to Tammy Thies https://www.wildcatsanctuary.org/ and Operation Blankets of love for the spacious crates donated for their lengthy trip!! Please check out their page and follow these 2 boys who were discarded on the streets of Los Angeles to their new home in Minnesota. God speed!

Our Bobcat with mange 9-25-2020, 10 days after intake. We had a great question from a supporter on what happens to the poison that is still in the cat's system or liver that caused this condition? The liver eliminates toxins, poisons, and waste from your blood, through bodily functions, when the liver becomes congested with toxins, they have nowhere to go but back into the bloodstream, they stop being eliminated from the body, so keeping the body's filters running clean w...ith nutritional support is vital. The liver is the only internal organ naturally capable of regenerating its own damaged tissue. The healthy diet and supplements we have him on assist the liver with the nutritional support it and the body need, it gives the liver a chance to heal and continue eliminating toxins. He will be here until he is at a good weight and completely healed. Once he is released that is up to him ..hopefully, with the passing of this new poison law, he won't get into the same condition again. See more

Day 7 This guy gets to move outside! he is doing great and cats love dens. They also need to have choices and places to hide to reduce stress.

Day 6, 9-21-2020. Our Bobcat with mange in recovery. The best feeling in rehabilitating these wild animals is watching their recovery physically but also as it relates to their behavior which he clearly is feeling no stress and very comfortable. We get a rare glimpse into their world (albeit in captivity)through remote cameras so we can monitor their recovery and behavior. We limit all interactions with them as that would only cause stress so this is relaxed behavior we would never be allowed to see, by him.

Our Bobcat on day 4 feeling so much better the fecal test came back positive for Coccidia, which was really no surprise. So he is being treated for that parasite. Many already have coccidia, but most infected cats never develop symptoms, cats are not generally thought to have a problem from the parasite unless their immune symptoms are compromised they are unthrifty, low body weight, mange, and stress). We prophylactically treat all wildlife coming in with a broad spectrum wormer, but it doesn't cover coccidia.
