The Urban Eating League lives on in Portland, OR!

The Wigg Party 10.11.2020

As many of you know the previous home of the Wigg Party, aka The Sunshine Castle, for the past 6 and a half years caught fire and suffered enough damage to be condemned uninhabitable. The local neighborhood association (NOPNA) is hosting a fundraiser tomorrow Monday, March 14 from 6 - 8pm at The Independent. Come out if you can make it, and please invite community.

Cops wasting limited resources on the Wiggle again this morning. Heads up. We guess they were bummed to find out that the next round of improvements to the Wiggle were approved by the SFMTA Board yesterday.

Check out this great video about our founder Morgan Fitzgibbons. This is the essence of our work in a beautiful 7 min package. Featuring some tasty Wiggle Stop-In shots! Part of the Velo Visionaries series by Kristin Tieche. Thank you Kristin!

Photo evidence of a car driver deliberately running over a person who rides a bicycle and then fleeing the scene and SFPD's response is "We only have one side of the story." Tells you all you need to know about how much respect they actually have for the rule of law and their concern for the safety of people on bicycles.

"We shouldn’t promote bicycle safety over pedestrian safety over cars and parking." - Ed Lee 2/26/15

Ed Lee won't trade safety for convenience. Except when he parks in crosswalks to get his coffee. Oh, and the adoption of the Idaho Stop reduced collisions by 15% overnight. But who needs facts? Photo credit to Andy Cooper - @terrapinsf

Loving that SFPD is claiming Sanford stopped at the stop sign. #lulz

The Wigg Party 15.08.2020

Here's video evidence that even Captain Sanford treats stop signs as yield signs while on a bicycle. We weren't going to put this out because we didn't want to embarrass the Captain, but after thinking about it we realized he has nothing to be embarrassed about - treating a stop sign as a yield sign is a perfectly normal, safe, reasonable thing to do. If he wants to be embarrassed by his own hypocrisy, that's his problem.

Examiner declares the bike crackdown over. Our sources at the meeting didn't exactly hear that. We'll see what plays out. However, if a handful of complaints about traffic violations can elicit such a huge crackdown, we're excited to see how SFPD responds to our impending complaintathon focused on actual dangerous behaviors by drivers. Stay tuned.

Just so everyone is clear, we are not organizing the stop-in tonight. We do support the event and the organizers, but this is not our production. https://www.facebook.com/events/862896473796644/

Go to any 4-way stop and watch nearly every single car violate the requirement to fully stop their momentum. SFPD isn't interested in ensuring everyone follow the letter of the law, or even safety. They simply want to send a message to cyclists - you are not wanted here. Share your own videos of SFPD's double standard with Streetsblog San Francisco http://sf.streetsblog.org//help-streetsblog-shine-a-light/

Cops wasting tax dollars on the Wiggle again. You should probably drive for the good of everyone.
