You never know what is going to come in the mail when you work at the Whittier Museum. Today we received this nifty little membership card for The Lincoln Legion signed by a Mary Saint (I think what is written) on February 12, 1911. The Lincoln Legion was established by Anti-Saloon League-founder Howard Hyde Russell in 1903. The organization was first called "The Lincoln League" after Abraham Lincoln. In 1912 it was renamed "The LincolnLee Legion" to reference Robert E. Lee to make it more appealing to southern states.
