Always good to see a dense laying pattern. This queen was part of a gangbuster colony that overwintered last year & was 24-bars strong (and crabby) in early spring. I pulled the queen and 3 bars of comb to a nuc a month ago to let the mother colony requeen itself. That colony now has a laying queen. While this queen, on limited foraging force, is still going strong. Hope I can make a few more daughters from this one.

Made some splits today. It’s good to see the bees growing & expanding while the blooms continue at the farm stand.

I’m losing count. #13-ish? Gave them the recycled lumber box. Thanks, Daren Hess

Moving a colony from a swarm box into a 1-foot hive before transporting them out to the apiary.
