A little insight on Yin and Yang.....

My patient yesterday asked me if Acupuncture can "heal chronic disease". I paused, because Acupuncture itself does not "heal". In essence, it acts as a catalyst. I explained that in Chinese Medicine the ancient texts discuss many factors including emotions as the root of disease. Acupuncture merely serves as a medium to assist the body to regain balance or homeostasis whether it be on a physiological basis such as hormonal imbalances (endocrine) or neurological or emotional. This balance is what allows the body to heal, simply stated.
