As Deborah Acosta leaves her role as Chief Innovation Officer for the City of San Leandro, she shares her goals for her new venture, the San Leandro Women’s Innovation LAB and the inspiration she found in #TruthisBeauty at our San Leandro Tech Campus. I spoke of the promise of new industries and jobs for San Leandro and Truth Is Beauty’s invitation to imagine a world where woman are safe. Not only physically safe, but economically empowered: a world that intentionally creates a level playing field for women and those who self-identify as women to grow sustainable, well-capitalized businesses.

No Spectators: The Art of Burning Man, brings Burning Man art out of the desert and into the gallery in Washington DC at the Renwick Gallery. An 18-foot replica of #TruthisBeauty by Marco Cochrane is on display at the through September 16th. The show will be the first ever major exhibition dedicated solely to the art and culture of that thing in the desert, as it has come to be known, and will feature artworks and relics from the gathering both within the gallery and outside in various locations within the museum’s neighborhood.
