WSPFamily, it's that beautiful time of year! We are once again teaming up with First 5 and sponsoring 3 local families this holiday season! Of course we ask that you only contribute as much or as little as you can- every bit helps! We ourselves wondered if tackling this project this year was doable considering these uncertain times. But that quickly reminded us that in such moments, we cling to what is most important: supporting others. What better time than now to dig deep ...and lend a helping hand to our community!? What is the most versatile bodyweight exercises?! I would argue to say, the pushup is one of the best full body exercises with many variations. It can be very versatile by keeping shoulders healthy, increasing range of motion, improving core strength and I increasing upper body strength. Here’s how we teach the pushup at Westlake Sports Performance. ... 1. Position of body 2. 45 degree elbows on the way down 3. Reach (spread the shoulder blades) as far as you can at the top. 4. THE GAME OF GOLF IS CHANGING... I know a lot of people are sick of hearing about Bryson Dechambeau, but he is leading the PGA when it comes to changing the game. Dechambeau, along with other players with their long drives, are making the USGA rethink equipment changes and having courses being redesigned. The great thing about this is, Dechambeau has proven swing speed isn’t just genetic. ... He is a great example that swing speed can be worked on and improved with strength training! Here at Westlake Sports Performance, we regularly see our athletes gain 10-30 yards, sometimes even more when they stick to our training programs! Don’t be left behind.
