Greetings WAD Youth and friends! In light of the pandemic and lockdown conditions around the country, this year's St. Herman's West conference will be held REMO...TELY. The conference will be held via Zoom the evenings of December 28-30. We're going to try to keep the best parts of the conference - there will be breakout room activities to help meet youth around the diocese. We will have Q & A with the clergy, and with our group of younger adult counselors. More info, including registration, and forms to submit your questions will be coming soon! With the additional stresses and staying home this year, we could all learn a little about discipline and self-organization. I will be starting a six-week study of the spiritual and literary classic "The Rule of St. Benedict" with my local youth group next week, which will go up until the time of the conference. Other youth are encouraged to participate. Let me know at [email protected] if you are interested in participating. Parish rectors -- this is a great year to get a youth group, or youth book club, or something like that started in your parish. Think about what community service opportunities are out there, and gather your youth as local regulations permit.

Dear Fathers, Brothers and Sisters in Christ, In relation to the wildfires of the Northern Deanery of the Western American Diocese, prayers are needed! 1) New Martyrs of Russia Church in Mulino, OR, has officially been evacuated.... 2) The Monastery of the Merciful Saviour on Vashon Island, WA, is currently in Phase 2, which calls for packing necessities and being on standby to evacuate at a moment's notice.
