West Downey LL Family We have been hoping that the 2020 Baseball Season would have been able to resume by now. We have heard from many parents wanting to get their kids out playing, exercising, and playing the sport they love. We agree and put plans into place to be able to create an environment where our kids would be able to be back on the field. Granted it would have been modified BUT they would have been back playing. However the Governor and the California Department of... Public Health yesterday specifically dictated that outdoor ..sporting events, assemblies, and other activities ..are not permitted at this time. ..competitions, regardless of whether teams are from the same school ..are not permitted. Based off of this direction the potential of resuming a season anytime soon would be prohibitive. We are heart broken that in the first time in our over 63 year history we will not have a season for our kids. These are unique times and the health and safety of our kids comes first. We will be ready to return to the field as soon as the State will allow us to do so. Please look for an email for further details regarding the 2020 season and our preparation for the 2021 Season. Friends & Family The STAND is up! And we will be opening on Wednesday JULY 1st Corner of Old River School Road and Stewart & Gray Road... This is our largest fundraiser of the year that helps us keep Registration fees the lowest in the area. Registration fees nearly covers uniforms, insurance, LL league fees but there is more we need to keep the league going from umpires, equipment, maintenance, utility costs, and more. For example - in a year we may go thru 60 cases of balls alone - at near $40 a case that adds up quick! So we rely on fundraising, our snack shack and donations... Please come out and support West Downey Little League. Every dollar we raise goes back into the league to help keep our registration low and support as many kids playing as possible.
