Extremely honored and full of gratitude to be featured alongside some amazing Latina in @parents magazine Thank you @grimydiapers for reaching out and including me in this feature. My heart is full to see that what I set off to do 5 years ago from my own struggles with #ppd #ppa became an opportunity to bridge the #maternalmentalhealth gap in the latinx mama community. The support & love has always been overwhelming and I am blessed to be able to do what I do for so many m...amas in my community Click on the link in my bio to see the other fierce Latina mamas doing amazing work in our community, blessed to call some my amigas #wellnesswednesday #parentsmagazine #parents #20latinamomsoninstagram #maternalmentalhealthclinician #latinamama #longbeachlmft #centralamericanmama #boymama #mentalwellness #emotionalwellness #latinxmamacommunity #mamasmatter #ahealthymamaisahealthyfamily #lasaludmentaldemamaimporta #mamasimportan #lasaludemocionaldemamaimporta #perinatalmentalhealth #postpartumdepression #postpartumanxiety #ansiedadposparto #depresionposparto See more

Wellness Para La Mama stands with #blacklivesmatter yet I have to address something that has come up this week in my sessions, with family members and my community. The question of "why don't they stand up for us, why don't they protest for us? You think if it were us Latinos/Latinx they would be out there with us?" Im sick and emotionally exhausted this week having to halt and educate the ignorants with this BS! Where the hell were you for your own people and community? Wher...e the hell have you been when protests were occurring and families were being seperated, neighborhoods were getting gentrified and donations were needed. You were absent, didn't give a s***, or had other plans as to why you could not exercise your right to protest! So why is it so relevant to announce now? I'll tell you why. Cuz your own privilege, colorism, racism and ignorance tells you that in order for you to feel better about your own racist ass you must denounce #BLM Then you are also part of the problem! To my latina/latinx mamas, #blacklivesmatter is not the place, moment or time to compare or contrast your struggles and hardships! Its time to #elevateblackvoices #amplifyblackvoices and stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters I am tired, heartbroken and angry cuz as a clinician I am holding space for my clients and as an ally for my brothers/sisters but also for my son and myself. Yet I am not done fighting or educating myself and others. I have lost clients this week for my beliefs and for speaking truths and I am perfectly alright with that! If you want someone to sugarcoat s***, hold your hand while you denounce #blacklivesmatter then I def ain't your therapist #BLACKLIVESMATTER #checkyourprivilege #blm #stopbeingaracistlatina #educateyourself #educateyourlatinofamilymembers #stoppolicebrutality #decolonizetherapy #blackmamasmatter #wellnessparalamama #shareblackstories #blacklivesmatter #blmmovement #solidarity #istandwithblackmamas #dismantlewhitesupremacy #dismantlesystemicracism #georgefloyd #breonnataylor #ahmaudarbery See more

#BLACKLIVESMATTER I proudly stand with my sisters and brothers in this struggle At Wellness Para La Mama my mission is to support mamas in their journey and educate our community on maternal mental health issues. Though that does not mean I am going to turn a blind eye to the racial, privileged, oppressed, criminalized systems that continue to kill black men and women. As a mama my heart breaks for every mama that loses a child to this despicable act and as a clinician I ha...ve a responsibility and obligation to my sisters and brothers to help dismantle these systems. As a women of color, mama and healer I need to speak the truth, educate myself and check my own privilege. I must teach my son to be a support system, an ally and stand up for his black peers and in the therapy room I must be racially trauma informed to help heal, see my brothers and sisters and fight with them I don't wanna hear how we as latinas/latinx mujeres suffer too, this is not the place or moment for that! And if you disagree with my views or stance, please hit unfollow! Im not here to look a part or feed into the aesthetic of "branding." And if you are silent in these moments, trust and believe were watching! Your silence is loud! I stand in solidarity with #blacklivesmatter and I will continue to do my part as an ally. My heart is heavy with you all and I see, hear and I am with you! Please take time to recharge and care for yourself. Stay safe, vigilant and healthy! This is far from over our black community needs us and if property matters more to you than human life, get to stepping If you know what agencies, organizations and people are doing the work in supporting and helping our black brothers and sisters please tag below! Also check out @therapyforlatinx @latinxtherapy for resources and ways to educate yourself and support! For my mamas please follow @theconsciouskid to start the conversations at home with your children and books you can read! Happy Monday Mamas! This weekend was rough for me. I felt all the feelings of mamahood and this quarantine! It really comes in ebbs and flows and at times its very hard to "keep it together." Honestly, I dislike keeping it together for the sake of others. I believe in being my authentic self and if I am in my feelings I want to be seen and heard. Unfortunately, in the latinx culture a mama must maintain her composure, be lady like, not complain about mamahood and see mamahood... as a blessing at all times! But thats unrealistic! It sets us up for failure and it does not support us in our mamahood journey. Here are some tips to help validate your own mamahood journey, especially during these uncertain times: Acknowledge how you feel. Name the feeling. Feel the emotion. Release the feeling. Ask for space if needed, set boundaries and assert your self by not allowing others to tell you how to feel or how to express it. Take deep breaths mama, this too shall pass and know you are not alone. Have a blessed week. Sending you all much love and peace #wellnessparalamama #mamasmatter #maternalmonday #latinxmamasmatter #mentalhealth #maternalmentalhealth #maternalmentalhealthclinician #latinamama #pandemicmamahood #mamahoodjourney #normalizemamahoodstruggles #latinxmaternalmentalhealth #saludmentalyemocional #saludmentalperinatal #emotionalwellness #mentalwellness #mamahood #latinxmaternalmentalhealthclinician #latinxmamas #ppd #ppa #perinatalmentalhealth #breakculturalstigmasofmamahood See more
