This is SO true! So many things come back to childhood triggers or inner child wounding for so many people. We get angry because that makes us seem less vulnerable than the sadness that lies underneath. Our brains process so quickly when something hits the sad inner child wound that the anger comes up fast to protect us. WHAT A GIFT!!! It doesn’t feel like a gift because we don’t enjoy the anger feeling either, but what a gift that our mind works so fast FOR US. ... I coach people to THANK THEIR ANGER for bringing that emotion to the surface. Now, become conscious of the underlying sadness without staying in that vibration, and see if the thanking and acknowledgement produces a calming down. I’d be quite surprised for you if it didn’t. . Have you been scared AF to have that difficult conversation with someone in your life??? I’m a warrior goddess on behalf of others easy peasy lemon squeezy, but admitting I’m hurt has always been tough. It’s always been much easier to simply cry in private and let it build up than share when I’m hurt. Why? F-E-A-R. ... Fear that I’d be that little girl again who was always asked why are you so sensitive?! Absorbing programming that sensitivity and feelings of vulnerability were not rewarded and frowned upon. Thank you @brenebrown and @reidaboutsex for teaching me that i am strong for being in the arena and that difficult conversations can start best with (for me): ’ ... I can’t tell you how this has helped me recently. I did the scary thing! I said I had hurt feelings when x happened. And you know what? I didn’t die. But a part of the ego that needs to be strong at the expense of self expression did. And THAT is a win for the soul. Open the heart, take a deep breath, take the scary step forward and know that you will come out ok and more than ok on the other end! I’ve shared this tip with clients (I credit you, Reid!) and practiced it for myself today. Love won. Friendship won. I DID ANOTHER THING: I completed 24 hours of the David Goggins 4/4/48 challenge. beginning Friday at noon for a total of 24 miles. All 4 Mile runs except the last one were between 46-48 mins, a secondary goal I made for myself. I’ve never considered myself as someone with a lot of endurance. In fact, I was a sprinter a long time ago. 3.5 years ago I ran a half marathon as a bucket list item and had no desire to ever run that kind of ...mileage again. Enter this challenge. I thought about this while i was doing 75 hard program that ended last Friday evening. I knew I’d be happy with 24 hours. I did it! I’m SO happy about it. I dont care that I didn’t do the 48. Life is about YOUR OWN goals, your own journey. I never dreamed nor wanted to do something like this. I could have tried to push through the pain and the fact that my body wasnt absorbing food well for 24 more hours, but I chose to be loving toward it and stop at the 24 hours before things could take a turn for the worse (ie an ER visit for a thousand bucks or more). The old me would have kept pushing just to prove that I could do it. And I would have done it with the old tools of shame and put-downs inside my head. ! I will be KIND and LOVING towards myself, I will NOT abuse myself. . . Set your goals, be satisfied with your efforts! I AM! P.S. my sweet hubby @jldwilke ran with me for the final 3 runs at midnight, 4 am and 8 am. He is NOT a morning person, so I was grateful. Thanks to my pal JNelly for texting me and encouraging me at those hours too! And to my Best Fish @curbygirl for reminding me that this challenge was done by a navy seal, and @dudu_juda that 24 hours is a serious achievement and that i should be proud of it and gentle with myself afterwards! @inknburn thank you for making running gear that held up to this challenge!
