Welker's Grove Nursery

What a gorgeous day today. So thankful for this Miracle March

After having a severe drought here in California, we are thankful to be having more snow than we've seen in a decade. It makes it a lot harder to try and keep up with the nursery work since everything is completely buried but it's wonderful to have a "real" winter again.

We took a wonderful walk through a sequoia grove today. It's always enjoyable to see how the squirrels carefully cut and place the green cones this time of year.

Fall is in the air here at the nursery. The weather is cooling down and we already had a little rain shower last week. Check out our bonsai page on the website store. We've listed a lot of new giant sequoia bonsais and also some Jeffrey pine, Lodgepole pine and coast redwood bonsai.

We are having a different kind of March Madness at the nursery this morning. After one of the driest winters in a long time, Mother Nature decided to bring us a big storm. It makes a lot of work for us but we are still thankful to have the snow.

Kristopher just finished making a new sign for the nursery. The few snowy days we've had during this mild winter have allowed him some time for indoor work to get it completed.

So very happy to hear the rain coming down outside tonight. It has been two months since we have had any rain, a dry spell that is one for the record books. Our trees are surely enjoying the refreshing downpour and happy to have the dust washed off.

Hoping everyone had a very blessed Christmas and wishing everyone a happy and very prosperous New Year in 2012.
