Even though we are not able to gather to celebrate this year's Autumn Moon Festival, we of the Weaverville Joss House, want to acknowledge the spirit of this time of year - that of gratitude for family and celebrating the harvest. We wish you all good harvest, continue to stay safe and we hope to see you all soon.
Weaverville Joss House goes Hi-Tech! We now have our very own YouTube channel to share our stories and history virtually, thanks to Jonathan, Jack and California State Parks. Please visit the Ancestors and hear our stories by visiting our Cloud Forest Temple YouTube channel. Here is the link https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEALjh97LfJ5oQpm6AWjjTA
We go LIVE! on Facebook!
As of today, it is now necessary to close access to the Temple's parking lot. If you wish to read the complete press release, there is a link below. We will continue to keep you apprised of news about our Temple. This is temporary. Be safe, stay home.
Please take note: For public safety, The California State Parks has temporarily closed the Temple, along with all state parks and historical sites. Re-opening will be reviewed in April. It is still possible to walk around the grounds of the Temple and visit the Quan Yin pond, but all tours have been canceled until further notice. This is for the safety of the pubic as well as the safety of our beloved Interpreter and staff who are continuing to care for the Temple. We appreciate your understanding of this - and please be assured the Ancestors are being taken care of, as they are taking care of us. In the meantime, enjoy some photos I took on Monday, after our recent snowstorm.
Spring blossoms frame the Caretaker's Quarters with fresh snow fall.
Want to Thank everyone who came out to celebrate the Year of the Rat . Gung Hay Fat Choy!
They're coming............
We are pleased that Eastern Ways Martial Arts will be bring the Lions to life for our celebration again. They are incredibly talented, and honor the tradition for our Temple. They will also continue the tradition of blessing our downtown merchants after the ceremony at the Temple. We hope you will join us!
