Hello Wax ‘n’ Goers! I know you must all be SO excited that things are opening up so quickly and that they are starting to allow beauty professionals back to work. My goal is to insure I keep my family healthy, and keep you all healthy as well. ... As such, despite the State now allowing waxing from the neck to toes effective today, we are going to wait for three weeks and watch the numbers to see if San Diego sees a spike in cases with so much opening up so quickly. Slow and steady stays alive, and as much as I miss you all - risking our lives is just something I’m not willing to do. In three weeks I will make a determination on if it is safe for me to reopen Wax ‘n’ Go or if we may need to stay closed through the fall/winter to avoid exposure from a second wave. I love and appreciate you all, and hope you all continue to stay safe. Wear masks. Social distance. Please continue to wash your hands and try to stay home if you can. A group of Salon Professionals (and I use that term loosely) are suing California’s Governor to allow them to reopen prematurely before it is safe. They have stated they represent ALL salon professionals... let me be clear: We speak for ourselves. We haven’t been begging for a lawsuit against the governor; no one asked us. ... We didn’t ask attorneys to file a lawsuit on our behalf. We haven’t received financial assistance largely, but you’re still getting paid. We are drowning in debt, but you are asking us to contribute to your Go Fund Me Campaign to push forward with your lawsuit. We have helped each other, our clients, our neighbors and strangers by offering up help with filing for loans and assistance, sharing resources we’ll need for the new normal in our industry. We have been a shoulder to cry on when the hard decision has been made to shutter our businesses. We are strong and steadfast in our commitment to protecting our families, our clients, our professional licenses that puts the priority of the health and safety of the public first. Not the priority of a dollar. We have been there for each other. You do not speak for us. I will not open until it is safe to do so. I will not risk the lives of my self, my family, or my clients. I am following the numbers. I am guided by science. I know your hairy bodies are probably out of control - but that can wait. As much as I miss every single one of you - our lives are worth more than the temporary gratification of being smooth.

Hey Wax ‘n’ Goers! It’s been 38 days since I last saw clients - and I know your hair is probably grown out by now... but please know that the mandate to shelter in place is still in effect indefinitely. There is no date to return back, and we are just entering our first wave peak. I cannot wax anyone because beauty services are NOT essential. I know you feel like they are - but I promise you your health and safety (and mine) are much more essential. With the very real threa...t of silent carriers of COVID-19 in the community - there is no safe way to service anyone without risking infection. Taking a temperature before service is fruitless. You may feel well, but still be a carrier, and I absolutely cannot risk that. Your health and safety is at the forefront and why I cannot come in to wax right now, and likely won’t be back to work for awhile. Not to mention I could be fined $1,000 and get up to 6 months in jail and likely lose my license. These are risks I will not take. I miss you all very much and wish you all good health. Please stay safe, wear a mask (mandatory in San Diego for everyone out in public effective May 1st), wash your hands, but most importantly stay home. Due to the fact that people can be carriers and show no symptoms of COVID-19, it is with a heavy heart that I have decided I will not be taking any new appointments for the next few weeks. If you already have an appointment scheduled, and feel you have had no exposure, are symptom free, and have not traveled I will still be more than happy to see you. ... Hello Wax ‘n’ Goers! With the strain of COVID-19 being declared a Pandemic, I would like to ask that if you are sick, not feeling 100%, or if you’ve been traveling recently, please reschedule your appointments. I will happily waive the cancelation fees for your appointments while this pandemic is ongoing. I have a compromised immune system, and my youngest daughter is medically fragile with cardiac and lung issues and is extremely susceptible to illness. Health is of the utm...ost importance to my family and I, and making sure we stay healthy insures I keep YOU healthy, too! In the salon, we are sanitizing door handles and light switches multiple times a day, in addition to our already top notch sanitation between clients. I wear gloves for every service on every client, and have masks available for those who need or want it. I’m attaching a lengthy article to this post about social distancing, and how it can help prevent the spread of these kinds of viruses.
