The Water's Edge in OB

A poem and a reminder from Dr. Bill Stephenson just came in: "Conversations With My Soul As I come to the end of this day.... it seems like it won't end. I ruminate over its stressful events. I need to make this day stop. I need to know who and whose I am. It is when my days make me feel frayed, frazzled and frightened, and I am hurting, hassled and hungry for peace, that I need to remind myself I have a gift already within me waiting to be re-discovered. As I come to the end of this day, I am wounded, but I will recover. The "Conversation" group is starting a new 6-week series (this Sunday at 9 AM at OB Campus) around the topic, God's Answers to Life's Difficult Questions. Curt will be leading.

One of our members of the Water's Edge Faith Community, Phillip Mourer, successfully completed his Eagle project and the beneficiaries from the church and the Ocean Beach Community Food Bank were on hand for the ribbon cutting. The project planning started back in March and April, just as the pandemic and live-streaming of church services began. He received support from the Ocean Beach Kiwanis Club, Home Depot and from friends and family. He was able to get additional support from a Home Depot employee (who is also an Eagle Scout) and from Andrew Polster, who helped transport the material to the church. Thank you to everyone who helped make this project become reality! This achievement marks one of the final steps on Phillip attaining the highest rank in Scouting.
