Canned Food Drive

Washington Charter School 26.10.2020

WCS Gives Back December 3rd - 7th It is the time of the year when we count the many blessings in our lives and when Washington Charter School comes together to help those in need. This year we will be working with a local food bank to provide Holiday Food Boxes for families at our school and within our immediate community.... Ways you can help: Monetary donations that will go directly to the purchase items for the food boxes. You can donate towards the purchase of a turkey, a pie or sponsor the whole Food Box. Entire food boxes are $40, Turkey is $20 and a pie is $10. We will gladly accept any amounts. Canned Food Drive: We will be collecting items in the quad on the following days: Monday - 12/3: Canned Fruit & Gravy (can still bring this!) Tuesday -12/4: Rice & Pasta Wednesday - 12/5: Canned Corn & Vegetables Thursday - 12/6: Scalloped Boxed Potatoes Friday- 12/7: Candy Canes & Canned Sweet Potatoes We will also be accepting any non perishable food items on any day to help stock the Food Bank's shelves!! Gift Card Giving: Donate gift cards in any amount to a store to purchase children's gifts (Target, Walmart, Amazon, etc.) so families can buy gifts for their children. If we receive 1,100 food items, the whole school will earn a free recess!! Our goal is to provide 30+ Food Boxes to families from WCS and 20+ Food Boxes to families in our local community. This is a great opportunity to show our children how to give back and make a difference. Thank you for your support! Any questions, please email Chandra Agostini at [email protected].

The Red Ribbon Campaign is the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation reaching millions of young people during Red Ribbon Week, October 23-October 31 each year. ABOUT THE RED RIBBON CAMPAIGN The National Family Partnership organized the first Nationwide Red Ribbon Campaign. Since its beginning in 1985, the Red Ribbon has touched the lives of millions of people around the world.
