A very special thank you to the Fremont Bank Foundation for its generous $250,000 grant to help support our newly opened, on-site COVID-19 community vaccination... clinic. These funds enable us to go further with our vaccination outreach while securing the much-needed personal protective equipment for our staff and patients in our ongoing effort to keep everyone safe and healthy. Pictured are CEO Kimberly Hartz, left, with the Washington Township Medical Foundation team who run our community vaccination clinic. The COVID-19 community vaccination clinic at Washington Hospital and Washington Township Medical Foundation is a huge success. People are praising the friendly,... professional and efficient way the clinic is rolling out the vaccine. In this photo, 80-year-old Martha of Newark receives her first dose. It was a wonderful experience, Martha told us, and I recommend it to everyone." Aligned with Alameda County guidelines, we are administering vaccinations by appointment only to Health Care District residents who are 65 years and older. Details, eligibility and how to schedule are at whhs.com/covid. Demand is high and wait times for appointments by phone can be long, so we encourage those with a MyChart account to schedule through https://mychart.whhs.com or the MyChart app. #maskup #WHcares #mywtmf See more
This week, Washington Hospital and Washington Township Medical Foundation opened a COVID-19 community vaccination clinic. One of the more than 500 first-day sig...n-ups was 74-year-old Shamim of Fremont, pictured here. My dad has been stuck at the house for a year, said his son, Fahad. He’s only gone out for doctors’ appointments that needed to be in person. The retired public relations professional (originally from Pakistan), was very active prior to the pandemic and is now writing a book on his life. Without hesitation, added Fahad, my dad knew getting the vaccine was the right thing to do." This Friday, February 5, is the American Heart Association’s annual Go Red for Women Day. Many people mistakenly assume that heart disease is only a men’s he...alth issue. Yet heart disease also is a major health concern for women. Women often aren’t aware of their risk factors for heart disease, but the more you know about heart disease, the more you can do to reduce your risks, says Sangeetha Balakrishnan, MD, a cardiologist with Washington Township Medical Foundation. Read more in this week’s Tri-City Voice at https://tricityvoice.com/02-02-21/. Discover our cardiology services at mywtmf.com/cardiology. In the meantime, we hope to see a lot of you wearing red this Friday! #WHcares #mywtmf #maskup #WearRedDay See more
Welcome, Aileen! #mywtmf
You’ve most likely heard that shelter-in-place orders have been lifted in California, and a county-by-county tiered system is back in effect. Alameda County has... reverted to the Purple Tier, where outdoor dining and other business can resume but with serious restrictions in place. Health care providers at Washington Hospital and throughout the state urge continued caution and safe practices in order to avoid a new surge in cases. Let’s all do our part to make this recovery successful. Wear a mask. Wash your hands. Watch your distance. Don’t let your guard down. #maskup #beatcovid19 #WHcares See more

As we start winding down 2020, the Washington Hospital Board of Directors would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season. Though this has been a ye...ar like no other, we still have much to be grateful for. At the top of the list is the strength of our community, which has shone every step of the wayespecially in the outpouring of support Washington Hospital has received. The entire board would like to thank the community for their many gifts, and for recognizing health care workers as the most important asset we have during a pandemic. This is important and timely news for community members 65 years and older. Today, Dec. 10, and Thursday, Dec. 17, our WTMF Internal Medicine/Infectious Disease team is holding a safe, drive-in flu vaccine clinic. It happens from 1 to 4 p.m. at 2287 Mowry Ave., Suite F, in Fremont. Upon arrival, please park and wait in the designated locations, which will be easy to identify with traffic cones. After arrival, call 510.248.1585 and one of our team members will come to your car and administer the flu vaccine. Face masks are required, per Alameda County order. No appointments are necessary, and as a courtesy, we will bill insurance. The self-pay option is $60 per vaccine. The vaccine is mercury/preservative-free, and administered on a first come, first served basis. #mywtmf #beatcovid19 #beattheflu

This is an important message for the community. Due to air quality issues, Washington Township Medical Foundation has canceled the Drive-Thru Flu Vaccine clinics scheduled for tomorrowSat., Oct. 3 at WTMF Nakamura Clinic, 33077 Alvarado-Niles Blvd, Union City; and at Washington West, 2500 Mowry Ave., Fremont. The smoke from wildfires in the North Bay continues to make our air quality poor. Currently, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District has extended a Spare the Air alert through Tuesday, Oct. 6. Protect your health by staying indoors, if temperatures allow, and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities. You can still receive the flu vaccine by contacting your Washington Township Medical Foundation physician. Visit mywtmf.com/appointments or call 866.710.9864. #mywtmf #WHcares
