Wandering Streams

Warm air, cold water, wildflowers starting to bloom, a 3wt McFarland yellow glass rod and a bunch of hungry and active brookies and rainbows eager to go after a buzz hackle... Another glorious Sierra summer morning on Sagehen Creek!

Cold Creek was running a little bit high last week, so I decided to give it a rest for several days to see what happened; the plan paid off pretty well, as I had a great morning out there today... water was down and the fish were up! Caught a bunch of nice little rainbows and my first browns of the season. Great morning on the water!

great visit to a favorite spot... Santa Barbara Botanic Garden! So nice to see the green grass and colorful wildflowers still on display in the Meadow!
