Did you know that July 5th is the busiest day of the year for animal rescues-- both wild and domestic? July 4th fireworks result in loud, scary noises that frig...hten and confuse animals. In the case of wildlife, July 4th fireworks happen at the height of baby season for most of our local species. The loud noises and bright lights will cause adult animals to abandon their nests or dens, becoming so disoriented that they are unable to return to their young. Whether it's wildlife panicking and running into traffic, ingesting or entangling in fireworks debris, flying into windows or buildings, or abandoning and losing their young-- nothing is fun about fireworks when it comes to wildlife. Please share to let others know of these dangers! Be sure to keep your domestic pets secured and be on the lookout for wildlife in need.
