New analysis of Duke Energy’s 15-year energy resource investment plan found: Carolina families and businesses could be on the hook for fossil fuel investments in energy resources that will never be used totaling $4.8 billion, or $900 for every Duke customer in the Carolinas. Their plans are not aligned with their current goal of eliminating carbon emissions by 2050 or state climate goals.... Utility commissioners in both North Carolina and South Carolina must reject this proposal! Check out the full report here: https://energytransitions.org/carbon-stranding

Reduced energy expenses can make a tremendous difference for a family struggling to pay their monthly bills. The Clean Energy Equity Act will create prosperity for our most vulnerable and underserved neighbors. We encourage our legislators to enable this vision," Amanda Colombo via The Star-Ledger.

California's fire season only ended a few months ago, and begins again in less than six months. Clean microgrids, sections of the larger electric grid that use primarily clean energy and battery storage to operate independently during outages, are a commonsense solution to the blackouts that are now a feature of fire season. Write the California Public Utilities Commission today to support greater and more equitable access to clean microgrids!

"If Consumers Energy truly believes in Michigan's clean energy future, it should also support the right of homeowners and business to install solar and to pay them a fair price for the electricity they put back on the electrical grid," John Richter of Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association in Crain's Detroit Business.

#EnergyEfficiency can lower utility bills, reduce emissions, and create healthier communities. But a new report shows Massachusetts efficiency program, Mass Save, is leaving low-moderate income & non-English speaking households behind. We must #RebuildBetter, and ensure all our communities benefit from this essential program.
