The Vortex 31.10.2020

Sept. 5, 2020 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Democracy’s Last Stand Kicks Off with Malcolm Nance... New York - On Sept. 6th, Malcolm Nance will be the featured guest on the first installment of artist/activist, Michael D’Antuono’s online event, Democracy’s Last Stand, to benefit Democratic campaigns and racial justice organizations. The 4 part event will feature different guests each week and will be streamed live every Sunday in September at 7:00 pm. The September 6th premier episode will feature best selling author of a series of books on the Trump/Putin relationship and MSNBC contributor, Malcolm Nance. The second episode will feature Peter Yarrow of Peter Paul & Mary, who will sing Blowing in the Wind as he did at the historic 1963 March on Washington. The following episodes will include political analysts and art figures who have been influential in their respective fields. The program will include informative interviews, entertaining videos, music and D’Antuono’s provocative art. The artist is releasing four original paintings and limited edition prints each Sunday on the GiveSmart online auction site, donating 50% of the proceeds of the sale of the paintings and a portion of the proceeds from the prints. Some of D’Antuono’s controversial pieces regarding racial injustice have become iconic images of the Black Lives Matter movement, including, A Tale of Two Hoodies, The Talk and It Stops with Cops. D’Antuono’s art has also been very critical of Donald Trump, like The Trump Crime Family and The Elephant in the Room. Much like his sardonic paintings, D'Antuono's words concerning our current president are clearly derisive. Our democracy is at risk like never before, said the artist, we all have to do what we can to stop Donald Trump and his enablers this November. For more information about the event and see the livestream, go to www.demslaststand.org. More of D’Antuono’s work can be seen on his website. Press Contact [email protected] 845-522-6692
