- The inhabited body - The body as a geographical place and a space for the imagination. Our body as the place of our beloved memories - . . . In my mindfulness art classes for kids I am focused on teaching them the importance of our relationship with our body. By knowing it they can experiment their interconnection with the world around them in a creative way. ... I also pay particular attention on teaching them how to be present in their body. And by teaching them that in a natural, artistic and playfulness way, they improve their abilities to pay attention, to calm down when they are upset and to make better decisions. In short, it helps with emotional regulation and cognitive focus. I also integrate art techniques in my classes. In this classes for 4 years to 6 years old kids, they are learning some assembly techniques, how to make a self portrait and a collage to finally make a mix media art giant self portrait having as a inspiration the idea of the body as our home. Finally, I love to share with kids (and all of my students of whatever age) that art is a source of beauty and expression, as well as simply for the process of creating. Part of our heart is in Denver, CO, the land that helped us to grow as beautiful as a flower and grounded like a tree and taught us that we are strong like the greatest Rocky Mountains.
