Saturday is our October Volunteer Day from 9-1pm. There will be treats for all the helpers and some volunteers are already talking about sporting a costume. We're especially excited to have a big crew from the local high school joining us and to see the new signage the Lions Club is putting in place. Don't forget your hat, mask, and pruning shears. See you there!

Scarecrow Success at Alta Vista Botanical Gardens !!! NOW I get to share our results for today ... we had more than 20 scarecrow registrations today and at least half of them came from Barb Around the Town. How do we know this? We asked! Everyone admires and appreciates her connections to our community. She IS an influencer and we are very very happy to have her support! 2 of the families came from my school and Gardening Club, others are AVBG members. One from my school is a... scarecrow sponsor, and really enjoyed her gift from Barb for TWICE on Main St. Some families came and signed up for a scarecrow for each kiddo. And were able to take sticks, heads, and clothes home to make their creations. We used up the heads I had ready - over 20. And we don't have any more sticks! About 4 families stayed (distanced) and worked on their scarecrows at the tables, and 2 young lady volunteers made a cute one. SOOO ... we're putting out a call for sticks 4' and 2' long that we can use for making scarecrows. If you have some you can share, please contact [email protected] . And be sure to join us for the Fall Garden Fest on 10/10/2020! See more
