Anyone else remember what the end of January 2017 looked like in Mammoth Lakes?

We know we aren’t alone in celebrating the fact that 2020 is over. What started out as a normal year full of excitement in Mammoth Lakes, came to a screeching halt in March. We want to thank everyone who has showed their care for this community over the last 12 months. From the unprecedented work of our frontline workers, to those of you who are supporting our local businesses from home, Mammoth Lakes endlessly appreciates you all. ... We wish you all a happy New Year, and hope that 2021 is nothing like 2020! Stay safe, we will see you all in the new year.

We hope you’re looking toward the future today. Have any questions about our region regarding future trips? Send us a DM and we can help find you answers. Please remember that the state of California is still under a stay at home order at this time. Stay safe.

Today we learned that Mammoth Lakes and Mono County, as part of the Southern California Region per the California Department of Public Health, will remain in a regional Stay-at-Home order until further notice. What this means for our community is that short-term lodging properties (hotels, inns, motels, condos, Airbnb and VRBO rentals, etc.) remain closed except to those performing essential work in Mammoth Lakes and the county. It also means that our restaurants continue to ...be allowed to serve take-out and delivery options only. We are very disappointed that this order remains in place for the sake of our local business community, but we also understand that this order is in effect to alleviate the current surge in Covid-19 cases across our region as well as the strain on the hospital systems. Please be patient, be kind and be understanding as we work our way through this difficult time. In the meantime, please mask up, gather only with your household, travel only for essential needs and help us get through these challenging times together.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that. Martin Luther King Mammoth Lakes Tourism believes everyone deserves to experience a winter wonderland. We strive to be an active part of making the outdoors safe, accessible, and welcoming for all identities and abilities.

The Unified Command Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is advising Mono County residents and visitors that based on current adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU) capacity throughout the Southern California Healthcare Region, it is very unlikely that the Regional Stay-At-Home Order (RSAH) will be lifted on Sunday, December 27 at midnight. Although Mammoth Lakes is still operating under California's Stay at Home order, tonight is the perfect time to start prepping for future backcountry adventures. Whether you’re backcountry skiing or splitboarding, snowmobiling, or even snowshoeing, traveling in the backcountry comes with inherent risk compared to inbounds on the resort or on groomed front-and side-country trails. Eastern Sierra Avalanche Center (ESAC) is offering a free, virtual backcountry education series this winter so you can learn about avalanche danger and ways to mitigate risks when traveling in the backcountry. The first part of the series starts tonight at 6 pm. Learn more and get the Zoom link here:
