Did you know that today is the 46th anniversary of Concord and Kitakami, Japan becoming Sister Cities? This friendship between cities began in 1974 when two cable TV executives, Court Kirkeeng of Concord and Zenji Katagata of Kitakami, met at a conference. They quickly became friends and eventually persuaded their city leaders to approve the sister city relationship. With roots in agriculture and similar populations sizes, it's our similarities and differences that make both ...places great! Sister Cities can be found connecting people and forming friendships around the world to work on the concept of Peace Through People.
