Dear All, Many of you are wondering what to do with Hanjin empty containers as you were told not to return them back to the terminals. It’s possible to terminate empties IF the container is a lease box. You have to find out if your container is a lease box and call the leasing company to find out where to terminate the empty containers. Most of them want their empties back along with chassis to avoid chassis shortage at the terminals. You can go to www.track-trace.com/contain...er and find out what company owns the container. Contact the owner of the container and find out where to return it. If it belongs to Hanjin, you will still need to return the chassis as they will charge chassis fee daily. It might be worth lifting off the Hanjin container and terminate the chassis to avoid further charges. See more

** CBP Guide for Hanjin containers ** Dear our valued customers, CBP has set forth the actions to be taken in the following scenarios involving imported cargo being transported by Hanjin Shipping.... Our major concern was an issue with vessels already arrived to the port but resting at anchor in the sea. We now are confirmed that the carriers must continue to provide advance notification to local CBP ports of the pending arrival (CF3171) so that the importers don’t have to pay the duty without getting their shipments. With above being said, we no longer have to hold entries for Hanjin containers. Please also read the below article provided by Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A. Customs & International Trade Law for other scenarios. http://www.strtrade.com/news-publications-customs-cargo-Han Thank you,

Subject : Customer Service Advisory Hanjin Receivership Crisis [9/1/2016] Dear our valued customers, It has been reported that Hanjin Shipping has filed for bankruptcy protection for receivership on August 31, 2016. Once we get an official report from the terminals that there’s no hold for Hanjin containers, we will go back to our normal operation. We will keep you updated as the receivership develops.
