Meet ‘Happy’ This bus was delivered to us on a flatbed trailer from Northern California. She was in very sad shape when she arrived BUT we lovingly revamped every single bit and bobble! We demoed (is that a word ), removed, cleaned, painted, rebuilt, reupholstered, wood worked, machine worked, you get the picture - EVERY LITTLE THING. ‘Happy’ makes us H A P P Y and she’s making her family very happy back in Minnesota.

Something you might not know about us... we build buses. We found this 1978 Bay Window for Kim and Dan (they hail from Maryland) sitting in the driveway of a professor from Cal State Long Beach. It had been rotting away in the same spot for 11 years, neglected and cold We completely overhauled this beauty for them and now they travel with us on our camp tours (check out our website @vwsurfari.com - Epic VW Camping Tours). Like so many others that we’ve built buses for ( @buscation ) they rented a bus from us, caught the bus bug and bought their own. Then we did the resto for ‘em - sweet! Best part... we’re bus friends for life

Folks come from all over to rent a bus from us, even folks that rent ‘em on their home turf like @hireakombi in Australia That’s Georgie in the drivers seat and adorable little Mae. Their family of 4 travelled our coast for 18 days in Cardiff, our 1979 manual shift Riviera pop-top Campervan.... Best part... we’ve become great friends. Love ‘em to bits and pieces and can’t wait for a reunion - maybe in Maui with some more of our VW fam @livetravelbe.there

Yesterday almost our entire team was back together again, in action, prepping the fleet for all of you that are heading out on the open road this week and weekend In addition to the regular crew we were visited by Happy and Jill, and then Fred popped by with some fine tequila so we could all toast to our reunion It sure feels good to have everyone back together again, working side by side. Something, I am realizing, that I used to take for granted....
