We have our May Workshop coming up and Chanelle is an absolute sweetheart, you do not want to miss her class. She will be going over active ways to strengthen the body and prehab troubled areas to prevent injuries as well as how to effectively stretch or move on your recovery days. WHEN Saturday May 22nd at 11am ... WHAT TO EXPECT As movement artists we challenge our bodies to go beyond basic human movement patterns, but do we adequately prepare and support them to meet these demands? Injuries are brushed aside as normal, pain is pushed through or ignored, and we continually command our bodies to do more. There has to be a better way! In this class we will talk about some general anatomy and get a basic understanding of how our bodies function to create movement. We will also delve into the importance of structural alignment, how it contributes to functional and dysfunctional movement, and spend time exploring targeted practices to address common imbalances in the body. Our focus will be on injury prevention and bringing awareness to our bodies in an effort to create balance in our function. WHAT TO BRING: You will need your own yoga mat and water. If you have them please bring myofascial rolling tools such as lacrosse/tennis/myofascial balls, hand roller/rolling pin, foam roller, etc. You will want to wear form fitting clothes that your are comfortable moving in. COST $25 for non-members and free for students with an active studio membership. REGISTRATION From the studios website go to the upcoming events and workshops tab, click the May Workshop, and scroll to the bottom to sign up.
