This book touched on so many things that apply to everyday life, that our veteran began urging others at the Ventura Home to read it as well. #MakeYourBed
The West LA Home is working with the Los Angeles County Registrar's office to offer our residents and staff a safe opportunity to vote in the 2020 presidential election. Many of our residents have already mailed in their ballots and look great showing off their stickers. It is important to us that everyone has a chance to make their voice heard. Team West LA, please look for the posted signs that are around the Home for information on when and how to vote early on October 26, 2020.
International ShakeOut Day is always the third Thursday of October (this year: October 15) to assist with earthquake preparedness. While COVID-19 has brought many uncertainties and challenges, one thing's for sure: the Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills still happened at the West LA Home this year! Thank you to our health and safety director for hosting an informative virtual event and our residents who dropped, covered and held on during our drill.
El Soldado stands to remember California’s Mexican-American veterans who fought during World War II, but essentially encompasses all Hispanic and Latino vetera...ns and their countless examples of heroism, CalVet Secretary Vito Imbasciani, M.D. said. With Latino Heritage Month coming to its close, the California Department of Veterans Affairs’ Minority and Underrepresented Veterans Division wants to highlight the statue for all that it embodies. #LatinoHeritageMonth #MinorityVeterans #Veterans #ElSoldado #CalVet
Our staff not only work hard, they work efficiently too! We are grateful for all of our hard working team members at the West LA Home for keeping the home clean and safe as we head into flu season.
