For this variation, the front of the bench is angled upward, so when you lie down your feet are in a higher position than your head. It works the lower chest muscles and shoulders. Narrow grip bench press. During this variation, your hands are narrower together on the barbell. It works the triceps and forearms. Vegan Hummus & Veggie Quesadilla Ingredients:... 1 Whole Wheat Tortilla (large) 1/4 cup Hummus 1/2 Tomato (small, diced) 1/8 Red Bell Pepper (diced) 1/4 cup Baby Spinach (chopped) Directions: Lay the tortillas on a plate or cutting board. Top with hummus, tomato, red pepper, and spinach. Fold the tortilla in half and gently press down. Heat a large non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the quesadillas to the pan and cook for two to three minutes per side or until browned and crispy. Let the quesadilla cool slightly and then cut into wedges. Enjoy! Adopt These 4 Habits and Develop a Fit and Healthy Mindset. 1. Make healthy choices and recognize them as such. The best way to think of yourself as someone that makes healthy choices is to make them regularly. Whenever you make a healthy choice, notice it and announce to yourself, I’m the kind of person that chooses healthy food over unhealthy food. Or, I’m one of those people that goes to the gym even if it’s raining. When you view health and fitness as part of your ...identity, the behaviors that support that belief occur naturally. 2. Consider how each decision impacts your health and fitness. Most people never consider the impact a decision has on their health. They choose food based on what they happen to feel like eating at that moment. Or, they search for a parking spot as close to the door of the store as possible out of convenience. When faced with options, ask yourself, Which option best supports my health and fitness?. When you begin asking this question, you’ll begin the process of changing your mindset. 3. Do your grocery shopping the way a healthy person would. Before you head for the grocery store, make a list of everything you want to buy. Review that list and ensure that you’re making healthy choices. Remove any items that aren’t healthy and replace them with healthier options. Stick to your list. The only reason to stray from your list is if you remember something that you need. Avoid the temptation to pick up anything that fails to support your health. 4. Make time for exercise. Avoid the mindset of, I’ll exercise today if I have time. Make time in your regular schedule for exercise. Plan out your week and decide when and where you’re going to work out. You can certainly arrange for 30 minutes of exercise a few times each week. With the appropriate mindset, you can do anything!

Include some stretches in your cool down period, and continue working on your flexibility in between workouts. Limbering up your muscles reduces soreness. Engage in active rest. Individual needs vary, but many adults need at least one day of full rest, and some additional active rest that can include less intense activities. Try going for a walk. Sleep well. Recovery and healing occur while you're dreaming. Go to bed and get up on a consistent schedule. Aim for at least 7 hours of sleep each night. Roll and knead. You may have heard of foam rolling release that reduces muscle soreness and promotes healing by pressing down on connective tissues surrounding your muscles. It's one of the principles behind foam rolling and massage. Wear compression garments. A wardrobe change may help too. It’s always important to get clearance from your healthcare provider before starting any new exercise regimes while pregnant. At least 30 minutes of moderate exercise is recommended between 3-5 days per week. Your existing fitness levels also play a big part in this. If you were regularly working out before pregnancy you should be able to continue with your workouts as long as you feel comfortable, you’re not too out of breath and your medical provider has given you the ok.... If you weren’t working out previously, you can start with modified workouts. Our online prenatal program is a great tool to help you slowly build up your strength with safe, modified workouts for each trimester. Here is a healthier alternative to the classic hot chocolate recipe we all grew up loving. HOT CHOCOLATE + 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or milk of choice... + 2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder + 1/2 tablespoon pure maple syrup plus additional to taste + Tiny pinch of kosher salt or sea salt + 1 tablespoon chopped dark chocolate or chocolate chips + 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract + Shaved dark chocolate or chocolate chips for serving Instructions In a small saucepan, heat the milk until just simmering. Whisk in the cocoa powder, maple syrup, and salt. Add the chocolate chips and vanilla. Whisk and heat until the chocolate is melted and smoothly combined. Taste and add more maple syrup if you'd like it sweeter. Pour into a mug, and top with extra chocolate as desired. Enjoy

Almond milk... pro: low in calories, contains vitamin E, lactose free con: low in protein Cashew milk pro: good source of fiber, full of iron, low In calories, lactose free Con: low in protein Coconut milk pro: low in calories, contains potassium, lactose free con: low in protein Dairy milk high in protein, higher in calcium cons: higher in sugar & not good for people with a lactose intolerance. Also, U.S. dairy is pasteurized so it loses some of its beneficial nutrients and enzymes. Soy milk pro: high in protein, vitamin D & B12, lactose free con: not good for those w allergies and who already have an estrogen dominance/too much estrogen in their system. Schedule your workouts, get them down on paper. Plan out your meals for the week. Creating a fitness and nutrition roadmap that will keep you focused on your fitness even when life gets hectic.... 2. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. We sometimes confuse thirst signals for hunger signals. Make sure to drink plenty of water, ideally half your body weight in ounces. 3. Don’t wait for the New Year to set a fitness goal. Pick one thing you want to work on for the month. Train for a 5k, increase your weight on a squat, workout x amount of days per week. 4.
