HUGE Credit Reporting Rules effective June 8, 2018 1. Medical collections will not be reported unless they’re 180 days old. Collections paid by insurance compan...ies must be removed 2. Collection accounts that haven’t been updated in 6 months will have to be removed. 3. To add an Authorized user, you now must have the AUs date of birth 4. The bureaus will now work with each other on mixed files (when your credit file gets mixed up with another) if one determines you’ve been a victim of a mixed file, they will share it with one another 5. Credit reporting agencies are required to provide a standardized noticed indicating how they investigated your dispute. 6. The credit bureaus will reject any credit reporting of a collection that is not at least 180 days 7. The credit reporting agencies will remove the reporting of any collection that did not arise from a contract or agreement to pay by the consumer. These would include collections for traffic tickets or library fines. 8. Multiple disputes from credit repair companies will be rejected. See more
