The results were much better than in September 2019. Mario Cordero also believes that they will have a strong fourth quarter. A newly completed study of air pollution conducted in the Port of Long Beach shows that diesel soot has fallen by 88% and their greenhouses gasses by 19% since 2005. At the Port of Long Beach, Pier G terminal has started using new zero-emission cargo-handling machinery as apart of their partly-funded initiative by California Energy Commission. Awarded $9.7 million for the project, the Port said International Transportation Service (ITS) is looking to created or converted 21 electric cargo handling vehicles. The grant will pay for most of the $13.7 million projects intended to help commercialize vehicles that will move cargo sustainably at seaports all around the world.
