It's almost that time of year! The Firefighters of Ventura County are once again partnering with ABC7 Community to bring the 28th annual #SparkOfLove toy drive to Ventura County. Visit vcfd.org/sparkoflove to find a participating location to drop off a new unwrapped toy to a child in your community. Together, we can keep the Spark of Love alive for children in Ventura County this holiday season!

Last year, #VCFD teamed up with Ventura County’s Health Care Agency to bring cheer to children in hospitals by delivering toys to them and their siblings during the #SparkofLove toy drive. This year, due to social distancing and safety restrictions, the Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) firefighter’s set up a special Toy Delivery System to get the children toys by delivering to the Ventura Ronald McDonald Family Room at the Ventura County Medical Center . US&R used a cantilev...er ladder rescue system for this spectacular team training and delivery. Normally, this rescue system would be used to assist victims trapped in an excavation (like a underground parking lot) or elevation and either rise them or lower them to ground level. #VCFDCares Ventura City Fire Health Care Foundation For Ventura County See more

Helmet cam footage created by one of our multitalented helicopter pilots from Ventura County Air Unit. The footage is from today’s fire near Santa Paula. Pretty cool stuff and a very unique perspective. As a reminder Twitter is our primary avenue for sharing news. However, incidents that immediately impact the public safety will be shared across all platforms. To see the twitter feed without the app visit VCFD.org and click active incidents.
