In the early 1900’s a cattle rancher named Manual Faria owned the land from the sea to the mountains. It was here that the Faria community was founded and named. Manual Faria would allow his fellow ranch owners in Ventura County to use his beach land to camp. Through the 1920’s the local farming families spent the Summers camping in the area. In the 1930’s Manual leased Summer cabins to the farming families. In the 1980’s these families were able to purchase their homes, many of which are still owned by the same families today! This is Pelican Point in 1972. Same family owned home...now if that doesn’t make you feel all warm and fuzzy I don’t know what will! #historyofventura #beachhistory #venturahistory
