This is what we see in long term care facilities. Loneliness and isolation has led to despondency and chronic depression. It is so sad

This is deeply troubling that these facilities have an inside track to regulators. "Craig Cornett, the CEO of the California Association of Health Facilities, an industry group representing 80 percent of the nursing homes in the state asked for standards to be relaxed and regulations to be waived. He recommended that COVID-19 patients be housed by one of his for-profit clients a move that would make them eligible for higher federal payments."

From Forbes. This is very interesting statistic involving nursing homes and assisted living facilities. The absolute worst decision was the states and cities like NY that put Covid positive patients back into nursing homes where cross contagion and infection control is a huge problem. Living in closed communities with care staff - many of who work multiple jobs because they have to - has resulted in this. Also providing a financial incentive for nursing homes to accept Covid patients has boosted the death rate nationwide. Sad
