Eitaikyo (Perpetual Memorial) Service this Sunday, November 8th at 9:30AM. Join our Virtual Sangha this Sunday morning for our annual Eitaikyo Memorial Service. Rev. Brian Nagata will be our guest speaker. Eitaikyo is a tradition where loved ones names are memorialized in the Temple Eitaikyo book, and are remembered on the anniversary of their death each year and at this annual memorial service. During our service on Sunday, we will remember the 288 names currently memorialized in our Eitaikyo Book. Family members and friends are encouraged to Gassho at home when their loved one's name is called. Happy 60th Anniversary VHBT!!! We celebrated the Temple's 60th Anniversary today by delivering a special 60th themed bag to our seniors. Thanks to Jino Ok for his bag design, to our volunteers for packing and delivering the goodies. Arigato! to Mammoth Bakery for providing yummy An Pan for our seniors. Special thanks to our volunteers from Girl Scout Troop 5325 and Marina Cub Pack 79 (our artists for this months cards)- our recipients have said they look forward to the young folks delivering their goodies.

Those of you who have heard Rick Stambul speak before about his involvement in the Civil Rights movement back in the '60s know that this will probably be a very insightful presentation.

Today is "Keiro no Hi" in Japan, the annual day highlighting respect for the elderly. Our Senior Dana Delivery program in September included a hand made card with a Dharma Message from Rev. Kory Quon to our 135 members over age 70. The cards were hand made by our Program Leader Aleyna and her daughter Ayva. The beautiful origami tsuru were made by one of our longtime members, Yoshie Tachiki. Our program will continue at least through year-end, and next month, we will be sharing goodies to celebrate our 60th year as a Temple.
