Bretzel 1.0 Stretch/Mobility Drill . The Bretzel 1.0 is a stretch/mobility drill that is designed to open both the anterior and posterior chains. It opens up the hip, low back, mid back, upper back and chest. . All you need for this exercise is some floor space and a pillow (something to lie your head on) ... . Start in a side lying position (right side down for this video) with hips and knees bent to 90 . Slowly kick your right leg back (the down leg) and grab the foot (preferably the outside) with your left hand and give it a slight pull. Place your right hand on top of left knee, you are going to be a twisted position. Slowly draw your left shoulder down to the floor and breath. Take 5 deep breaths and try to deepen your twist with each breath. Once you are complete, stop and repeat on the opposite side. . Median Nerve Glide / Flossing In this video we are going over how to glide or floss the median nerve. . The median nerve originates on the cervical spine and travels through the front of the shoulder, medial arm and down the middle of the forearm. The nerve can get caught along that path, from scar tissue, adhesions or muscle tension. Symptoms tend to include, tingling, numbness, and/or radicular pain. ... . We use the flossing technique to free the nerve and restore normal function. . This exercise can be performed in either the sitting or standing position. . In this video we are flowing the right median nerve. To start, raise your right arm to the side at 90 with palm facing up. Laterally bend your head to the right and flex your right wrist so that the fingers are pointing downward. As the wrist goes slowly into the extension, laterally your bend your head away (in this case, to the left). This movement causes the nerve to glide / floss along its path. Slowly repeat the motion and perform 10 to start. . If you experience a slight increase in symptoms during the exercise that is ok, anything above that, stop. . If you experience an increase in symptoms after the exercise, stop and check with your healthcare provider. .
